A SCARCE .45-75 (WIN) LEVER-ACTION REPEATING CARBINE MODEL '1876', serial no. 2160,
for 1877, with re-blued round 22in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, replacement elevating ladder rear-sight, the top of barrel signed 'WINCHESTER-REPEATING-ARMS, NEW HAVEN CT. KINGS-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29 1866, OCTOBER 16 1860' (refreshed), iron receiver with saddle-ring, sliding dust-cover with chequered oval thumb-panel and screw down guide rail, straight-hand butt-stock with a smooth iron 'carbine' heel-plate, walnut three-quarter length fore-end, central barrel-band and shaped iron nose-cap, fully concealed magazine tube, competent re-finish throughout (some mild pitting below finish)
